Cooking is relaxing– you can tell what kind of day I’ve had by how many things I’m making– the worse the day, the more freshly made food will be in my kitchen. But I couldn’t figure out pork chops, so for quite a while cooking them was not relaxing. Now I have these.
Hardware:
1 large skillet
1 large knife
1 large cutting board
Software:
pork chops, up to 4
3 slices bacon
1 apple, sliced
1 onion, quartered
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon rosemary
1/4 cup white wine
1/4 cup water
olive oil
Method:
Heat the skillet and add olive oil (enough to lightly cover the bottom.) Sear the pork chops until they have a nice brown crust on both sides. Lower the heat to medium-low and add bacon slices, apple, onion, rosemary, garlic, white wine and water. Cook until the pork is done all the way through. Eat them right away. I made buttered couscous and a tossed salad with balsamic dressing to go with these.
